Materials: Cotton calico, brown wool braid, 5 white china buttons. Condition: Very Good. There is loss to sections of the wool braid especially around the hem. Some faint brown staining on the skirt and one china button missing. Measurements: Sh-Sh, 7.5"; Slv L, 4.5"; W, 20"; Sh-W, 9.5"; Skirt L, 18.5"; Hem C, 44". Comments: This hand sewn child's dress has a pocket in the right side seam. The gauging at the neckline as well as on the skirt and bodice into the waistband is so precise that it looks like smocking. The brown wool trim is edged on either side with white stitching, hand done. This was probably a dress much loved by a mid 19th century 6 or 7 year old.
