Materials: Linen and cotton threads.
Condition: Excellent. One small break in
the lace at the base of the "V" (easily repaired).
Measurements: 5" x 31".
Comments: High quality pieces of Honiton
bobbin lace are very difficult to come by. This is the
quintessential English lace, first produced in the 16th century. Queen
Elizabeth, as well as Queen Victoria centuries later, had a fondness for
Honiton. As can be seen in this handmade lace collar, Honiton's design
usually incorporates thistles, roses and shamrock motifs.
