Materials: Linen thread in two
thicknesses.
Condition: Near perfect; extremely
faint light stain.
Measurements: 4" x 37".
Comments: For her wedding dress and
veil in 1839 Queen Victoria chose Honiton bobbin lace. Honiton has a
simple English countryside flavor with its airy, stylized designs.
Lappets (bands of lace made to be worn on a woman's head) were
fashionable from the late 17th century through the 19th century. This is
one of a very few lappets I have ever seen made of Honiton lace.
