Materials: Peach braided straw, blue
pleated organdy, pink gros-grain ribbon, velvet and cloth flowers, ivory
silk lining, wire and buckram.
Provenance: Hat belonged to Evabelle
Higgins Smith Young Strahn (3 marriages!) of San Francisco or her
daughter, Georgie. Evabelle daughter was socialite Georgie Smith-Young
Ridgley Hebbard Wilkins' of New York and Boston. Georgie was born in San
Francisco, c. 1906.

Young....or perhaps it was worn by Evabelle while on vacation in
Hawaii....The straw on this early 1920s hat is unusually pliant; it is
exceptional quality. The millinery workmanship superb.
