Materials: Red cotton velvet, red silk ribbons, cotton muslin
lining.
Condition: Excellent. Velvet has
some scattered staining, which gives the color a darker appearance than
original.
Measurements: Crown: 8.75"
diameter; 3.75" high. Brim: 2.6" deep, 12" across.
Comments: Extremely rare early
19th C. lady's day hat in wonderful condition. The split brim with
ribbon ties is a delightful decorative detail. An interior muslin
draw-string headband allows for adjustment of head size. This accessory
is worthy of inclusion in a museum collection.
