Comments: Carrickmacross lace is so
named for the town in Ireland where this hand made lace flourished
throughout the 19th C. This unusual lace is an elaborate form of
cut-work. One most often sees Carrickmacross lace worked in a collar or
hankie edging, a deep flounce is a rarity!
